We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients.
This is a full-time position located in our Parsippany
, NJ
; Cherry Hill, NJ
; Princeton, NJ
; Bethlehem, PA
; or Holicong, PA office.
- Independently conduct field investigations and assessments of soil, groundwater, surface water, etc., using approved industry standard procedures.
- Independently conduct field investigations such as subsurface explorations and monitoring well construction, field sampling to support site characterization.
- Monitor subsurface exploration activities (e.g., test borings, geoprobes, and test pits) to collect soil, bedrock, groundwater, and other pertinent information for project design.
- Conduct soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with ASTM standards, company procedures, and other guidelines.
- Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate to the discipline.
- Compile, reduce, analyze, manage, and report field, instrumentation, geological, and environmental data using spreadsheets and other tools.
- Conduct on-site monitoring/engineering observation of contractor environmental and geotechnical-related construction activities.
- Use various environmental and geotechnical instrumentation and equipment during field work.
- Perform historical site review and review applicable regulations, as appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation.
- Draft technical sections of project communications and reports, including written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables such as Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
- Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on project opportunities.
- Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site. Participate in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley & Aldrich.
- Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline. M.S. degree welcomed.
- 0–5 years of professional services consulting experience, including Phase I/Phase II environmental assessments, data evaluation, and presentation of technical solutions in a variety of written and oral formats.
- Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
- Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certification or planning to obtain professional certification, as applicable to the discipline.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Office software.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: lift 50 lbs., traverse unstable/sloping sites and landscapes, work outside in a range of weather conditions, and have the stamina for moderate physical activity for the majority of field working hours.
