This position will perform marine surveys and audits in the field. The Marine Surveyor will produce and submit technically, and grammatically correct reports aligned with company procedures and schedules, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Safe loading of grain cargo
  • Safe loading of deck cargo
  • Lashing and securing of cargo including deck cargo
  • Supervision to discharging of plywood and steel cargo
  • Supervision of discharging of fruits such as Grapes/Orangs/ Plums/ Peaches, etc.
  • On and Off hire survey
  • Draft survey
  • Damage survey
  • Hold condition, tank conditions and cleanliness, ventilation, bilge arrangement etc.
  • Heavy-lift loading and stowage survey
  • Hull and equipment condition survey
  • Bunker survey
  • Pre-purchase survey
  • Dry cargo survey
  • Bulk liquid survey
  • Container condition and cargo survey
  • Steel scrap loading survey
  • Cocoa bean discharge survey
  • Pre-shipment survey
  • Flag-state marine safety survey
  • Collision damage survey
  • Preparation of the vessel for coal cargo loading
  • Supervision of transfer and/or loading/discharging oil cargo
  • Calculation of oil cargo quantity
  • Pre-Coastguard CoC Inspections
  • Tanker Pre-site Inspection
Requirements

Must be a US citizen or demonstrate the right to live and work in the USA.

College graduate, maritime college preferred or equivalent time in marine industry - five (5) years sea-going experience in a certificated position, or five (5) years’ experience in marine surveying field, or five (5) years of comparable marine experience.

Membership of NAMS Global preferred but not required.

Report and technical writing skills will be a consideration.

Current valid Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC)

Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

High performance and a strong team player.

Commitment to company values, policies, and safety program.

Must have ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
