Junior Structural Engineer at NV

NV5 is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Structural Engineer to join our team in New York City. This role will primarily focus on bridge-related projects, providing an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding assignments. As part of our team, you will gain hands‑on experience and contribute to the design and analysis of complex bridge structures, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.

• Assist in the design and analysis of bridge structures.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop and refine critical analytical and design competencies essential for structural engineering projects.
• Execute complex engineering design tasks under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Produce precise designs, intricate calculations, detailed sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
• Gather and conduct thorough analysis of critical data.
• Utilize advanced computer software as a tool for solving sophisticated engineering problems.
• Adhere strictly to established budgets and schedules, ensuring project milestones are met with utmost professionalism.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Successfully passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, and structural analysis programs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment.

NV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities. NV5’s Parsippany, New Jersey office operates on a four‑day workweek (38 hours/week).

The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the salary transparency provisions of the NYCHRL.
