A growing engineering firm is seeking a Land Survey Project Manager to oversee and coordinate surveying projects from inception to completion. This is primarily an office-based role in the Fairfield, NJ facility, with potential remote flexibility upon management approval. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and organizational skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee land surveying projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
- Review and approve survey data, maps, and reports for accuracy and compliance
- Supervise and mentor field and office staff, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables
Participate in occasional field work throughout NJ as needed to support project execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain one (strongly preferred)
- 3–5+ years of experience in land surveying
- Strong computer proficiency required — candidates must be comfortable with:
- Microsoft Outlook, Windows, Excel, and Word
- Drafting from point cloud data
- AutoCAD Civil 3D (advanced proficiency expected)
- Surveying software and related digital tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
