Bring beverage concepts to life from ideation through commercialization with our North America Applications Team! The Technologist, Taste Applications, Beverages will collaborate with cross‑functional experts, sales, flavorists, sensory, and marketing teams to support customers in developing innovative beverage solutions while showcasing the dsm‑firmenich flavor and ingredient portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Support and coordinate flavor applications and associated technical activities across a variety of beverage projects, contributing to customer solutions from concept through commercialization.
- Execute defined technical projects and formulations, developing beverage application bases and prototype concepts that showcase dsm‑firmenich flavors, ingredients, and technologies.
- Participate in beverage formulation work across alcoholic and non‑alcoholic applications; experience with alcoholic beverages is a plus but not required.
- Contribute to technical selling efforts by supporting customer meetings, work sessions, and technical discussions in partnership with sales and senior technical colleagues.
- Manage multiple customer briefs simultaneously under general direction, completing assigned work streams and supporting delivery of project objectives.
- Apply technical knowledge of flavors, ingredients, formulations, and beverage processes while collaborating closely with internal technical partners and contributing to the broader applications community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related scientific discipline with approximately 3–5 years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 2–3 years of experience.
- Experience supporting beverage or flavor applications; exposure to alcoholic beverages is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated formulation skills in beverage systems, with the ability to troubleshoot formulations with guidance and collaboration from the team.
- Solid organizational and project coordination skills, with experience supporting multiple projects in parallel.
- Exposure to pilot plant, processing, or scale‑up activities, with an understanding of formulation considerations beyond bench scale.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and support customer‑facing technical interactions.
The salary or hourly wage scale for this position is $95,000-$110,000. In addition to base salary, a comprehensive total rewards package is offered, including annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs, and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
