Civil Highway Engineer

Civil/Highway Engineer Qualifications A bachelor's degree is required in Civil Engineering. PE license in the state of NJ or NY is required.

Good communication skills. Be proficient with AutoCAD, Micro Station, and design tools such as INROADS and Civil 3D. Familiarity with OPENROADS is beneficial. Capable of collaborating with and/or leading a team of junior engineers and independently performing roadway design tasks. Familiarity with roadway design manuals, such as AASHTO"s 'Green Book', NJDOT"s Roadway Design Manual NJDOT"s Access Design Guidelines, Design Exception Manual, and the FHWA"s MUTCD.

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of experience involving the design of roadways, intersections/interchanges, ADA curb ramps, parking, and pedestrian facilities.

Experience with NJDOT"s Capital Process Delivery Process, Standard Specifications, and Sample/Detail Plans.

Experience with standards and Manuals from other agencies, such as NJTA, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, or PENNDOT beneficial.

Experience with FHWA"s NEPA process. Preparation of contract plans and documents, including bidding documents. Implement QA/QC processes to maintain project quality, including thorough review of field data, design, and project evaluation rep Responsibilities:

Compensation commensurate with Qualifications and Experience. The projected range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
