EHS Specialist

What this job involvesDesign, implement, and manage Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance across multiple facilities, support site management, and promote a strong EH&S culture.
Day-to-day responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive EH&S programs, including contractor safety, hazardous energy isolation, chemical management, emergency procedures, and safety committees.
- Provide guidance and advice on EH&S management at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and company requirements.
- Support and manage client EHS programs: fire suppression inspections, industrial hygiene sampling, respirator fit testing, environmental inspections.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and site safety committee programs.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and risk assessments.
- Support audits from clients, corporate, EH&S staff, and external agencies.
- Manage third-party contractors via ISNetworld and review CMMS work orders.
- Calibrate safety equipment on an annual preventive maintenance schedule.
- Conduct facility field observations and compliance inspections.
- Develop and deliver EH&S training, including train-the-trainer programs.
- Track safety performance metrics and lead incident reporting and investigation.
- Assist sites with root cause analysis and near‑miss presentations.
- Emergency response duties.
- Industrial hygiene tasks such as fit testing, IAQ investigations, noise surveys, and PPE management.
- Minimum two years of EHS compliance experience in facility operations.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, ASME, and other applicable regulations.
- Understanding of safety fundamentals, industrial safety, risk management, and data automation.
- Basic industrial hygiene techniques and principles.
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence results without direct reports and work independently.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook.
- Internal candidates must have a consistent “meets expectations” performance review.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- EHS experience in biopharmaceutical, research, or maintenance operations.
Dayshift, Monday – Friday
CompensationEstimated salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per year
