About the Role

We are hiring a Principal Engineer / Environmental Scientist / Geologist with an LSRP license to grow our office located in the vibrant, historical college town of Princeton, New Jersey. This is a growth role for a seller‑doer leader: you’ll set the go‑to‑market approach, open doors with new and existing clients, and deliver high‑impact work—supported by strong technical resources and collaborative colleagues.

Your

  • Grow accounts: deepen trusted‑advisor relationships, identify cross‑sell opportunities, and expand multi‑service programs.
  • Lead delivery: oversee complex engagements (scope/schedule/budget/quality) and bring the right experts to solve client challenges.
  • Build the team: mentor and develop staff, support recruiting, and create repeatable delivery and sales playbooks.
  • Represent the firm: engage with clients, regulators, and industry groups; speak/publish as appropriate to raise visibility.
About You

We are looking for a Principal with 20+ years of consulting experience, a track record of winning and expanding client work, and experience as a New Jersey LSRP.

Qualifications

  • Business development success—evidence of consistently winning work (e.g., annual sales targets achieved, repeatable proposal wins, measurable account growth).
  • A strong professional network in New Jersey and an existing book of business.
  • Strong program/project leadership (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk) and the ability to lead multi‑disciplinary team.
  • In‑depth knowledge of NJDEP environmental regulations and Technical Guidance and application to real‑world situations.
  • Relevant degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, chemistry, or a related field; professional certifications/licensure (e.g., LSRP, PE, PG).
Why this role
  • Growth runway: define and expand our New Jersey market presence with leadership visibility.
  • Seller‑doer platform: autonomy to lead pursuits plus support from technical specialists and delivery teams.
  • Strategic influence: shape offerings, pricing, and account strategies that drive repeatable growth.
  • Leadership opportunity: mentor talent, help recruit, and build a practice with staying power.
  • Flexibility & balance: hybrid work options.
  • The long‑term thinking of a foundation‑owned company.
  • Competitive base pay and incentive programs.
  • Support of external memberships, conferences and engagements.
