Mechanical Engineer

A highly respected and nationally recognized MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Princeton, New Jersey office. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design and coordination of HVAC and mechanical building systems across a variety of project types. This role offers exposure to all phases of project delivery, from concept development through construction administration, while working within multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering high-quality and sustainable engineering solutions.

• Design mechanical systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, air and water distribution, heat rejection, building automation, and controls systems
• Perform HVAC load calculations, system sizing, and energy modeling analyses
• Select equipment and develop coordinated building system layouts
• Prepare contract drawings, technical reports, and project specifications
• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, design strategies, and technical solutions
• Support project management efforts including quality control, scheduling, and coordination
• Assist with client relationships and contribute to proposal and business development activities
• Help manage smaller projects, technical tasks, or discipline-specific work areas

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or institutional building projects
• Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities
• EIT or PE license highly preferred
• Strong understanding of national building codes and industry standards
• Experience with energy modeling and sustainable building design principles is a plus
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment
