About the RoleAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design and coordination of HVAC and mechanical building systems across a variety of project types. This role offers exposure to all phases of project delivery, from concept development through construction administration, while working within multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering high-quality and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design mechanical systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, air and water distribution, heat rejection, building automation, and controls systems
- Perform HVAC load calculations, system sizing, and energy modeling analyses
- Select equipment and develop coordinated building system layouts
- Prepare contract drawings, technical reports, and project specifications
- Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, design strategies, and technical solutions
- Support project management efforts including quality control, scheduling, and coordination
- Assist with client relationships and contribute to proposal and business development activities
- Help manage smaller projects, technical tasks, or discipline-specific work areas
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or institutional building projects
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities
- EIT or PE license highly preferred
- Strong understanding of national building codes and industry standards
- Experience with energy modeling and sustainable building design principles is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment
