Job SummaryThe Project Land Surveyor/Manager in Princeton, NJ serves as a key leader in surveying, mapping, and geospatial projects. The role involves participating in planning, managing staff, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring quality and compliance in all survey work.
Job Responsibilities- Assist discipline leadership with planning, implementation, and production of land surveying deliverables.
- Oversee and manage staff for specific project assignments, supervising field work.
- Coordinate staff to prepare and modify field work scope, data, reductions, and final deliverables based on analysis.
- Write, review, and produce drafting, CAD files, survey maps, proposals, written descriptions, and reports.
- Plan schedules, develop tasks and budgets, prepare progress reports, and draft change orders.
- Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in collections.
- Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and approach.
- Assist with office tasks such as CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing.
- Collect field data using surveying equipment and software when necessary.
- Assist in recovery of survey control, monumentation, construction layout, invert and subsurface utility data, and photo documentation.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Over 5 years of field and office surveying experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson software; excellent computer skills.
- State survey license required or ability to obtain one.
- Experience in proposal preparation and job estimates.
- Ability to perform complex boundary analysis and maintain quality control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple staff and meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills across all levels of management and staff.
- Attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel to the field as necessary.

Estimated salary range: $90,000 - $133,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, market conditions, education, certifications and other credentials.
