Job Title
Optomechanical Engineer
Job Role s and Responsibilities- Design and develop custom precision optomechanical components and assemblies.
- Create modular mechanical platforms and infrastructure for complex engineering systems.
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional engineering teams to define design requirements, project timelines, and system integration needs.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs from concept through prototyping and production.
- Build, assemble, test, and validate mechanical systems and prototypes.
- Produce 2D mechanical drawings with appropriate tolerances and manufacturing specifications.
- Apply finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize mechanical designs.
- Design components with manufacturability and scalability in mind using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Support system integration, mechanical alignment, and hardware validation activities.
- Contribute to the development of scalable engineering solutions for advanced technology platforms.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optomechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with CAD software for mechanical design.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience creating 2D mechanical drawings and applying geometric tolerancing principles.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Basic familiarity with optical systems and optomechanical components.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, construction, and alignment.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of quantum physics is not required.
