Our client is a fast-growing heavy manufacturing organization in the greater Princeton, NJ area looking for a Finance Director. The Finance Director will lead the establishment and management of finance operations, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, planning, working capital, management, accounting, and compliance in close collaboration with the Controlling function leads. This role includes implementing robust processes, internal controls, and systems, while building a high-performing team to ensure operational excellence.
In addition to managing cash flow and providing strategic planning support, the Finance Director will deliver accurate financial insights to guide decision-making. This company is looking for someone who is nimble, well-rounded, and hands-on who combines a strong accounting foundation with broad operational finance leadership, can partner with all areas of the business with grace, and thrives in growing and ever-changing environments.
This position on-site with hybrid flexibility. A relocation package is available if required.
The Finance Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, cost accounting, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow, tax planning, and auditing.
- Experience with inventory valuation and costing methodologies (FIFO, standard costing).
- Proven ability to analyze, forecast, and manage gross margins and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Understanding of commercial and financial processes and deal structures within industrial business.
- Proven competence of forecasting accuracy and scenario planning.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and with distributed teams.
- Hands‑on approach and autonomous in work.
- Ability to challenge existing processes, problem solving.
- High‑level of working knowledge with Microsoft Office products and ERP accounting software. Sage and/or Oracle experience desired.
- Experience supervising, managing, and mentoring strong financial teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 7+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing.
- Managed an accounting, finance, or internal department for a minimum of 5 years.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
