Position Overview:

The M&A Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the firm's strategic growth initiatives through mergers and acquisitions. This position involves performing in-depth market research, financial analysis, and due diligence to evaluate potential acquisition targets within the wealth and asset management industry. The analyst will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams throughout the entire transaction lifecycle, from initial prospecting to post-deal integration planning.

This position will be part of the Finance team at the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Modeling & Valuation:
    Build and maintain detailed financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable wealth managers, and precedent transactions analyses, to assess the value and potential impact of M&A transactions.
  • Due Diligence:
    Coordinate and perform rigorous business, financial, operational, and compliance due diligence on potential targets, managing data rooms and working with external advisors and legal teams.
  • Research & Prospecting:
    Conduct market and industry research to identify prospective RIA firms and financial advisor teams for acquisition, using online databases and other sources.
  • Documentation & Presentations:
    Prepare client and internal presentations, pitch decks, information memoranda, and internal reports for the executive team and the board of directors.
  • Transaction Support:
    Assist in all aspects of deal execution, including negotiation support, managing communication between stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Integration Planning:
    Collaborate with various internal departments (accounting, HR, technology, transition team etc.) to support the development and execution of post-merger integration plans.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience:

    Prior experience (2-4 years) as an M&A analyst, investment banking analyst, or in a client-facing financial advisory role, preferably within the wealth management industry, is highly desirable.
  • Technical

    Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with CRM and pipeline management systems is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work comfortably with C-level executives and clients.
    • High level of motivation, a positive team-oriented attitude, and an ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • An entrepreneurial mindset and a desire for continuous learning.
