Full-time Seeks an experienced and strategic public finance professional to serve as Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the Administrator, the CFO oversees all municipal financial operations, including budget development, annual financial and debt statement preparation, financial planning, debt management, cash management, audit coordination, and supervision of Finance Department operations. Princeton is a full-service municipality with an approximately $85 million Current Fund budget, $6.4 million Parking Utility, an active capital program and a Moody’s Aaa bond rating.
The successful candidate will work closely with elected officials, department heads, auditors, and outside professionals in managing the Municipality’s financial affairs and long-term fiscal planning. Princeton offers a collaborative professional management environment and an opportunity to play a key leadership role in one of New Jersey’s premier municipalities.
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey CMFO certification preferred. Candidates with significant New Jersey municipal finance or governmental audit experience who are eligible to obtain CMFO certification may be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum four (4) years of municipal finance experience, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of NJ statutory accounting, budgeting, capital finance, and municipal operations
- Salary range: $150,000 – $215,000, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
