Overview
Atlantic Health is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours are: 7:00AM - 3:00PM
, including alternating weekends. Starting rate: $18.50/hr
- Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
- Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
- Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
- Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
- Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
- Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
- Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
- Reports any repairs to maintenance.
- Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids; may require work at Union Campus.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Solid work history a must.
- Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.
- Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
