ZS is looking for an experienced Smart Manufacturing / IT-OT Integration expert to serve as an IT-OT Consultant Lead in the ZS Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice. The primary responsibility is to lead Industry 4.0 transformation programs and IT-OT integration initiatives for ZS Supply Chain and Manufacturing clients.
This includes serving as a subject matter expert on smart manufacturing, IT-OT system architectures, and implementation best practices based on industry frameworks such as IS88, ISA
95, in client discussions; designing and deploying scalable digital manufacturing platforms; managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects; and contributing to Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice development.
This role combines OT, smart manufacturing, and systems integration experience in a production/manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have 5-7+ years of experience across the following areas:
- Hands-on experience with smart manufacturing, IT-OT integration, and knowledge of OT systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, REST APIs) with understanding of real-time data exchange across shop floor systems
- Experience in architecting hardware/software infrastructure to enable manufacturing intelligence solutions, including integration of OT data with MES, Historians (OSIsoft PI, Ignition, Aveva, Kepware, etc.), ERP, LIMS, QMS
- Experience in designing and deploying scalable Industrial Data Operations capabilities and Unified Name Space (UNS) compliant architecture for data contextualization, metadata management and creation of semantic data layers to enable use cases/applications
- Deep understanding of manufacturing process knowledge (discrete and continuous), lean principles, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime analysis, and root cause analysis on live production lines for quality events
- Ability to lead workshops with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to create digital transformation roadmaps for Industry 4.0/5.0, prioritize high-ROI use cases, conduct Proof of Concepts/Proof of Value and scale for operationalization
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline
- Exposure to manufacturing and quality analytics use cases (e.g., golden batch, advanced process control, digital twins, batch release, deviation monitoring); knowledge of agentic AI use cases for manufacturing and quality is a bonus
- Lean/Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred; formal certification is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with IIoT/IoT platforms (e.g., Tulip, High Byte, Cognite, Thing Worx, Ignition, Aveva) and cloud/on-prem data storage (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Knowledge/experience of industrial cybersecurity (e.g., CFR Part 11, IEC 62443 security protocols, SOC 2 IS) is a nice-to-have
- Strong client-facing skills with experience supporting pre-sales/business development (demos, solutioning discussions, proposals, RFP responses)
- Strong communication skills to translate client needs into technical and business requirements
- Demonstrated experience in change management and stakeholder onboarding, from shop floor to senior leadership, to support adoption of new digital and OT/IT capabilities
