Job Details
Job Title: Healthcare Technical Writer
Location: Must Reside in DC, MD or VA
Type: Contract
Compensation: $43/HR
Contractor Work Model: Remote
Key Responsibilities- Write, edit, and maintain user guides, SOPs, job aids, and other operational documentation.
- Translate complex workflows and systems into clear, step-by-step instructions.
- Develop documentation for applications built on platforms such as Salesforce.
- Update training materials and presentations (no training delivery required).
- Collaborate with SMEs and Business Analysts to gather and validate requirements.
- Ensure documentation meets quality, style, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Publish and maintain documentation in learning management and governance tools.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical writer or in a communications-focused role.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Business, or a technical discipline.
- Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree must have an additional 4 years of relevant work experience, in addition to the required 3 years of technical writing or communications experience.
- Knowledge of call center operations, claims processing, enrollment, or billing workflows.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments, including ACA.
- Experience supporting documentation for AI tools or knowledge bases.
