Job Summary
The Manager, Sr. Systems Analyst will collaborate with IT and customer teams at all levels to identify, assess, operate and drive continuous improvement of technology and service delivery solutions that achieve business operational outcomes and strategic goals. This role focuses on enterprise procurement and source‑to‑pay platforms (SAP Ariba). The Manager will coordinate across various shared services groups within IT and other functions to analyze, align, integrate, operate, optimize, document, and enable new capabilities for Otsuka and its affiliates.
Job DescriptionThe Manager, Sr. Systems Analyst will work with IT and Business teams to identify, assess, implement, and operate approved technology and service delivery solutions that drive business operational outcomes and strategic goals. The Manager sets out requirements, leads gap and root‑cause analysis, designs solutions, and collaborates with senior architects to build and sustain procurement and source‑to‑pay capabilities.
Core responsibilities include:
- Technical / Service Management
:
Partner with IT leadership to enable and support strategic programs and projects, manage expectations, align to business requirements, and present alignment material to functional colleagues. - Technical & Service Analyst
:
Lead requirement gathering, business‑needs analysis, gap and root‑cause analysis, and optimization identification for procurement and source‑to‑pay platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba). Work with Senior Architect and Architect to develop business cases, evaluate vendor options, and define measurable outcomes. - Subject Matter Resource
:
Provide technical and service‑delivery knowledge to evaluate improvements in procurement and supplier‑management processes enabled by platforms such as SAP Ariba. - Configurator
:
Configure software products (e.g., SAP Ariba) and gain a deep understanding of product functionality to support business needs. - Support of Architects
:
Assist Senior and Principal Architects with project portfolio upkeep, demand management, budget forecasting, technology governance, and coordination with the IT Portfolio and PMO.
Knowledge/
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of Life Sciences experience, with 2+ years in an IT technology or service delivery role supporting specific function areas.
- Experience supporting or implementing procurement, source‑to‑pay, or supplier‑management platforms such as SAP Ariba is strongly preferred.
- Insight into technology trends and best practices that improve processes and operational effectiveness.
- Working knowledge of processes within the relevant technology/service delivery area and regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry.
- Broad business and IT capability awareness with hands‑on experience using or implementing domain‑specific solutions.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams, particularly in Japan, EU, and India.
- Strong process design, documentation, problem‑solving, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Success delivering new technology/service delivery capabilities using SDLC practices.
- Up to 5–10% travel required, based on business needs.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree; preferred fields include Computer Science, Engineering or adjacent areas. An advanced degree in sciences, business administration, or pharmaceuticals is desirable.
