AI Engineer (Applied/Software)
As a Senior AI/ML Scientist within our Cardiovascular AI team, you will lead the development of advanced machine learning models that support clinical decision‑making across cardiovascular imaging and diagnostics. You will drive end‑to‑end AI/ML initiatives—from problem definition and data strategy through model development, validation, and clinical integration—working closely with clinicians, engineers, and global teams to deliver impactful solutions that improve cardiovascular care.
YouAre Responsible For
- Leading the translation of cardiovascular clinical workflows (e.g., cardiac imaging, hemodynamics, disease detection, risk stratification) into AI/ML problem definitions, data strategies, and model requirements.
- Designing and implementing advanced deep learning architectures, foundation models, and vision‑language models for cardiovascular imaging, signal processing, and clinical data analysis.
- Driving validation strategies, including statistical rigor, model robustness, and clinical relevance of AI outputs.
- Leading cross‑functional efforts across data acquisition, annotation, model development, and validation, in collaboration with clinical and engineering teams.
- Managing and prioritizing multiple AI/ML initiatives across the cardiovascular portfolio.
- Contributing to intellectual property, publications, and external collaborations in the cardiovascular AI space.
- Proposing and driving new AI/ML‑based innovations aligned with cardiovascular product and research strategy.
- Mentoring junior team members and influencing technical direction across projects.
- Staying at the forefront of AI/ML research and applying state‑of‑the‑art techniques to cardiovascular challenges.
- Advancing AI solutions that improve diagnosis, treatment planning, and outcomes in cardiovascular care.
- Enabling clinicians with data‑driven insights across imaging and patient data.
- Driving innovation in cardiac imaging, disease detection, and predictive modeling.
- Contributing to scalable, high‑performance AI systems deployed in clinical environments.
- PhD (preferred) or MS with strong experience in Computer Science, AI, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 5‑10+ years of experience in AI/ML, including deep learning.
- Strong programming experience in Python with frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensor Flow.
- Proven track record of delivering AI/ML models in real‑world or production environments.
- Experience working with complex datasets, ideally within medical imaging, cardiovascular data, or healthcare.
- Strong ability to lead problem‑solving efforts and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Experience contributing to publications, patents, or research collaborations.
- Experience with cardiovascular imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, echocardiography, angiography).
- Familiarity with time‑series physiological data (e.g., ECG, hemodynamic signals).
- Experience working in regulated environments (FDA, clinical validation, SaMD).
- Knowledge of clinical workflows in cardiology or cardiovascular care.
