Manager, Sr. SAP BTP Application Developer and Architect

Job Summary

Otsuka is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Analyst with expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to design, develop, and deploy modern cloud applications and extensions that power our enterprise digital landscape. In this role, you will architect and build scalable solutions on SAP BTP using CAP, Node.js/Java, SAP UI5/Fiori, and Integration Suite while ensuring secure, clean‑core extensibility for SAP S/4

HANA. You will partner closely with functional teams, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑performing applications, seamless system integrations, and cloud‑native services that support critical business processes across the organization.

• Collaborate and partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to enable strategic programs and projects, manage expectations, and align to business requirements.
• Lead requirement gathering, perform gap and root‑cause analysis, identify optimization opportunities, and develop business cases with solution recommendations, vendor evaluations, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide technical and service delivery expertise to evaluate process and execution improvements; maintain awareness of industry trends and give recommendations through at least one functional domain area.
• Configure software products within domain responsibility, applying configuration skills to support business needs and adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Assist senior architectural roles in building and maintaining project portfolios, leading demand management, estimating and prioritization, participating in budgeting and forecasting, and governing technology initiatives in coordination with the IT Portfolio and Project Management Office.

• Minimum 5 years of life sciences experience, including at least 2 years in an IT technology or service delivery role.
• Knowledge of technology trends, best practices, and industry regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands‑on experience with functional area/domain specific solutions and SDLC practices.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams (Japan, EU, India).
• Strong process design, documentation, problem‑solving, and presentation skills with ability to influence senior leadership.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%–10% as required.

• Minimum bachelor’s degree; preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields. Advanced degree in sciences, business administration, or pharmaceuticals is desirable.
