The Senior Manager, IT Engineer Business Intelligence Power BI - Field Reporting is the most-senior member of the engineering team and accounts for the outcomes of the team. As a lead and team member, the incumbent is expected to not only guide but actively deliver work of increasing complexity, imparting knowledge and skills to junior members. The role manages designs, implements, and supports enterprise technology solutions that power Otsuka Pharmaceutical's global business operations.

It focuses on creating secure, scalable, high‑performing systems that accelerate innovation, operational excellence, and data‑driven decision‑making. As a key member of Otsuka's IT organization, the engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams across applications, data and infrastructure to deliver reliable, compliant, and future‑ready solutions. • Data Analysis and Visualization – Understanding how to analyze data and create meaningful visualizations, including choosing appropriate chart types.
• Power BI Desktop – Proficiency in using Power BI Desktop to create reports and dashboards, including data import, data model design, and DAX.
• Data Modeling – Ability to design and implement efficient, scalable data models with relationships, hierarchies, and normalization.
• DAX – Strong skills for creating complex calculations and measures within Power BI.
• Power Query – Knowledge of Power Query and the M language for data transformation and cleaning before loading into the Power BI model.
• SQL – Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and extracting data for integration.
• Business Intelligence Concepts – Solid understanding of BI concepts and Power BI's place in the broader BI landscape.
• Data Warehousing – Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
• Cloud Services – Knowledge of Microsoft Azure for Power BI integration.
• Communication and Collaboration – Strong skills to work with stakeholders and translate requirements.
• Problem‑Solving – Ability to troubleshoot issues and optimize Power BI solutions for performance and usability.
• Security and Governance – Understanding of data security and governance practices to ensure compliance.

The IT Engineer III manages with the Platform Lead or Product Lead the entire technology lifecycle—from strategic planning to deployment, optimization, and support—to keep Otsuka's IT environment secure, compliant, and responsive to business needs.

• Work with the Solution Architect to translate business and functional requirements into well‑architected technical solutions.
• Manage the design and implementation of solutions that align with Otsuka's enterprise architecture, data strategy, and security standards.
• Develop and configure systems across cloud (AWS, Azure), on‑premises, and hybrid environments.
• Build automation scripts and reusable components to streamline deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, configuration management, and version control practices.
• Validate scalability, performance, and fault‑tolerance of deployed systems.

• Collaborate with platform lead, product owner, business analysts, architects, and QA teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Work within Agile/Scrum or hybrid delivery frameworks to support iterative releases.
• Manage technical deliverables and contribute to project documentation, timelines and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with external vendors, managed service providers and internal support teams.
• Provide clear, concise technical input in planning and status meetings.

• Maintain high availability of systems through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
• Analyze incidents, perform root‑cause analyses and implement preventive measures.
