Overview
Senior Manager, IT Engineer – Business Intelligence Power BI (Field Reporting) is the most senior member of the engineering team, accountable for delivering secure, scalable, high‑performing systems that support Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s global operations. The role combines leadership, design, implementation, and ongoing support of Power BI solutions and collaborates across applications, data, and infrastructure functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design and implementation of Power BI architectures, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop, publish, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data models using Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and data warehousing concepts.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, Azure services, and on‑premise platforms.
- Conduct performance tuning, security reviews, and governance compliance for dashboards and underlying datasets.
- Automate deployment pipelines and maintain documentation and version control using Git, Azure Dev Ops, or comparable tools.
- Collaborate with data scientists, stakeholders, and governance teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Monitor solution health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the team.
- 8+ years of experience as an IT engineer or data analytics specialist.
- Deep knowledge of Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience building automation scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
- Strong understanding of security, governance, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, GxP) relevant to pharmaceutical data.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Power BI Expert, AWS/Azure Architect, or Dev Ops tools are desirable.
- Salary range: $150,034 – $224,250 (US) with incentive potential.
