ServiceNow Architect

Responsibilities

• Articulate the architectural vision, conceptualize and experiment with alternative architectural approaches; develop and validate the architecture and high‑level solution design against business requirements.
• Define prerequisites for development; implement Service Now best practices and standards guidance; serve as technical and process best practice advisor/SME to customers and teammates.
• Administer the Service Now instance, including delegation of groups, modification of CMS, workflows, business rules, UI actions, policies, ACLs, dictionary, catalog items, and updates of existing solutions.
• Provide subject matter expertise, act as technical product advocate, design, develop and implement ITIL processes, ITSM, ITOM, CSM, Knowledge, IRE, SAM/HAM, and Release Management modules within Service Now.
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend efficient, cost‑effective options; develop software solutions for new services and functionality.
• Propose data models, design changes; review and refine designs for usability; review testing scenarios and refine test cases; coordinate releases, upgrades, and new deployments.
• Produce and maintain detailed system documentation (design specs, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, disaster recovery, technical notes, testing).
• Create and maintain current‑state platform architecture documentation; create well‑structured test plans; translate technical complexities to stakeholders.
• Participate in configuration of new applications or suites during planning, development, and rollout phases; contribute to strategic development of platform customizations; maintain awareness of technological advances.
• May telecommute to Princeton, NJ from any U.S. location.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 3 years in IT architecture and application design.
• Experience with IT architecture methodologies, standards and best practices; full SDLC experience on the Service Now platform.
• Software performance engineering practice and consultation;
  Service Now technical and process best practice advisor/SME.
• Administration of Service Now instance: delegation of groups, CMS modification, workflows, business rules, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, dictionary, catalog items, and updates of existing solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement ITIL processes, ITSM, ITOM, CSM, IRE, SAM/HAM, and Release Management modules within Service Now.

• Salary range: $165,000 per year – $190,000 per year.
