Overview
The Director of AI Adoption and Enablement is a strategic and operational leader in Otsuka’s Data and Analytics organization. The role is responsible for facilitating adoption and governance of AI across the OAPI/OPDC enterprise, supporting AI use cases through ideation, development, deployment, measurement and enhancement, and ensuring alignment with business, regulatory and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate AI governance meetings and committees, including the AI Enablement Committee, AI Science and Applications Council, and Data and AI Platform Council.
- Develop and lead the operationalization of an AI awareness, enablement, and adoption roadmap that is aligned with Otsuka’s AI strategy.
- Coordinate AI use case assessments, architecture reviews, and maintain a catalog of use cases and their status across the life cycle.
- Track use case activities through stage gates (proof-of-concept, pilot, full production deployment) and ensure stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure ROI and effectiveness of AI initiatives with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with responsible AI guidelines, including GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act, and coordinate with Legal, Security and Risk teams.
- Monitor KPIs for adoption and ROI and coordinate with IT, data science and product teams.
- Lead change‑management initiatives to build AI fluency, awareness and innovation, working with Change Management teams and end users.
- Maintain alignment with or lead coordination of initiatives adjacent to AI, such as data strategy, Real World Data Strategy and analytics governance.
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree preferred; an MBA is a plus.
- Over 10 years of experience in pharma drug development or commercialisation and enterprise digital transformation, with at least 7 years in biopharmaceuticals and experience integrating technology in a regulated setting.
- Experience with AI/ML concepts and technology transformation.
- Excellent coordination, project management, change management and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering complex multi-year enterprise initiatives.
- Broad understanding of drug development and R&D organisations and associated processes.
- Strong communication skills, leadership, collaboration and strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of AI technologies, pharmaceutical regulations, and concepts in data, analytics, and governance.
