The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in Princeton, NJ has an immediate career opening for a Computer Systems Support Administrator. This opening is located at IDA’s Center for Communications Research in Princeton, NJ (CCR-P). We are seeking a Computer Systems Support Administrator, who with minimal supervision, provides technical and operational support of computers, peripherals, endpoints and audio visual systems. Troubleshoots and resolves problems with limited scope. Provides technical and operational support in the implementation of IT programs and project initiatives. Adheres to IT best practices, corporate and security policy. Due to the nature of this position, and the requirement for extended coverage, this position may be required to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
Responsibilities- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field with one year minimum experience supporting microcomputer software, hardware, associated peripherals, networks and computer user support OR high school diploma with three years minimum experience supporting microcomputer software, hardware, associated peripherals, networks and computer user support.
- Experience with Linux desired; additional experience with Microsoft operating systems a plus.
- Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, network cabling and remote access methodologies.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with general to no supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 IAT II certification.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

CompensationWe support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation program and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range based on data-driven market analysis for each position. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $68,000-$109,000. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, unique skills and qualifications, and other relevant factors.
