You'll Do

Platform Engineer
- AWS Certified Professional - Princeton, NJ (Hybrid) - Will consider regionally remote candidates

We're looking for a highly motivated Platform Engineer to help us build and improve our cloud infrastructure in AWS. Initially this role will focus highly on Dev Ops related tasks. As the team matures, the role will grow to encompass broader platform engineering responsibilities, like IDPs and self‑service features for developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead upfront technical alignment by conducting architecture and deployment readiness reviews with application teams to ensure requirements, dependencies, and assumptions are clearly understood before implementation and release.
  • Design platform solutions with operability and supportability as first‑class concerns, including clear success criteria, failure handling, rollback strategies, and defined ownership.
  • Act as a primary technical communication bridge between application development and infrastructure teams, providing clear, timely updates and ensuring shared understanding including security and compliance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify and surface technical and security risks early in the delivery lifecycle and work with application teams to address them prior to deployment rather than reactively post‑release.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems, support incident management and provide root cause analysis.
  • Work closely with IT, Business and Vendor teams.
  • Assist in modernizing on‑prem legacy applications in AWS.
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for application builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Automate application deployment workflows targeting AWS services, with an emphasis on reliability and repeatability.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS Fargate.
  • Provision, configure and maintain/monitor AWS resources.
  • Write and maintain Terraform code to manage AWS infrastructure in a repeatable, version‑controlled manner.
  • Perform code reviews.
  • Contribute to policies, standards, and guidelines for Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.
  • Apply security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Assist with compliance‑related tasks such as audit logging, vulnerability scanning and patch management.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using Cloud Watch, Datadog, or similar tools.
  • Develop and maintain platform and system documentation.
What You Need Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • AWS Dev Ops Engineer Associate or AWS Dev Ops Solutions Architect Associate required
Prior Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Dev Ops engineer or in similar roles required
Skills and Competencies
  • AWS – EC2, ECS, ECR, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, Lambda, Cloud Watch

Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work outside of standard business hours and weekends (when required)
