Position Summary

The Director, Insights & Innovation (I&I) will serve as a senior analytical, data science, and methodological authority and leader within TAIP, accountable for owning the roadmap to develop, deliver, and continuously evolve automated, advanced analytics and AI-enabled decision-support capabilities across the trial lifecycle. This role bridges portfolio analytics, applied data science, data governance, and analytics product stewardship, ensuring that insights used throughout trial design, feasibility, enrollment forecasting and execution are scalable, explainable, and decision driving, delivered via Photon and other enterprise platforms.

position can be located at any of the following BMS hubs:
Princeton, NJ, US;
Uxbridge, UK;
Warsaw, Poland; or Boudry, Switzerland

Key Responsibilities
  • Analytics & Data Science Roadmap Ownership – own and orchestrate the end-to-end roadmap for TAIP’s advanced analytics capabilities, including automated, predictive, and AI-enabled solutions. Define priority use cases, maturity stages, and value realization in partnership with TAIp leadership, Business Insights & Technology, and Data Science counterparts (e.g., DQS). Ensure roadmap alignment to portfolio and trial decision points, not just tool delivery.
  • Analytical & Methodological Stewardship – own and govern the analytical methodologies underpinning TAIP deliverables across feasibility, site selection, enrollment forecasting, and portfolio insights. Define when specific methods, metrics, or tools are appropriate, and when they are not.
  • Analytics Products, Platforms & Value Delivery – provide business ownership for analytics products used by TAIP (e.g., Photon, Comet), solutions are designed for automation, scalability, and reuse. Translate business needs into analytically sound solution concepts and sense check technical proposals from IT or vendors.
  • Applied Data Science & Advanced Analytics Leadership – shape how predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning, and AI are responsibly applied within TAIP to inform trial and portfolio decisions. Partner with enterprise data science teams to define analytical approaches, success criteria, and validation expectations, while ensuring transparency, interpretability, and regulatory appropriateness.
  • Portfolio & Execution Decision Support – translate complex analytical outputs into clear, decision-ready insights for senior leadership forums. Ensure outputs answer the right business questions, at the right time, with appropriate confidence. Provide informed challenge when analytics risk being misapplied, over-interpreted or operationally misaligned.
  • Governance, Risk & Decision Integrity – act as a point of accountability for analytical integrity, escalation of risk, and limitation disclosure. Partner with relevant business stakeholders (e.g., Clinical operations, Biostatistics, Data Governance, etc.) to align methodologies and avoid parallel or conflicting standards. Clarify and align ownership boundaries to accelerate delivery and avoid rework.
