Future focused and always one step ahead! As an Underwriting Assistant, you will assist underwriters by providing the initial risk assessment support for new and renewal business. You will also be responsible for delivering timely and accurate account setup, rating, technical underwriting support, policy issuance, and post‑issuance service for moderate to complex accounts. Duties will include but aren’t limited to supporting insurance products;
reviewing account coverages, losses, and additional data supporting underwriting decisions; collecting and reconciling account‑level data and accurately and efficiently developing pricing models.
- Support new and renewal underwriting tasks for specialty insurance business units
- Input information to increase the data quality associated with Statements of Values received from our producers to underwrite business.
- Collect, process, and store all appropriate documentation according to internal processes.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders in support of underwriting decision making.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 2‑3 years in a similar role supporting similar business types.
- Excellent customer service with the ability to take ownership and drive issues to resolution.
- Highly adaptive and able to work effectively in changing environments.
- Working knowledge of Word.
- Advanced skills with Excel.
- Ability to work quickly and with little to no oversight.
- Appreciates a fast‑paced, team‑first, solutions‑oriented culture.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in Princeton, NJ. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
