On Call Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and the environment

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Driver’s license may be required
• Completed all safety and task training certifications; forklift certification may be required
• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

• You must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and frequently be required to sit and talk or listen
• The work environment includes frequent sitting, talking, and occasional lifting

$20.20–$20.30 per hour

Monday – Friday, multiple hours
