What You’ll Do

This full-time (or flexible part-time) position blends health leadership with administrative support. Our Health Director will:

  • Provide compassionate, responsive healthcare to students throughout the school day.
  • Support health and wellness education for students and staff, both informally and through planned programming.
  • Monitor student medical records, immunization tracking, and compliance with state regulations, HIPAA and NJAIS policies. Submit data/reports to appropriate organizations/authorities.
  • Lead infectious control efforts and stay current on best practices for community health.
  • Administer medications and develop individualized healthcare plans in close communication with families.
  • Organize first aid/medical aid kits for day and overnight field trips, educate school staff as needed on relevant students’ medical needs/medication needs.
  • Serve as a key member of the school’s safety and emergency response team.
  • Maintain properly stocked medical supplies and blood borne pathogen kits throughout campus and ensure staff know the location of each kit.
  • Support daily school operations, including:
  • Covering the front desk and welcoming visitors.
  • Assisting with attendance and other routine administrative tasks.
  • Acting as an “administrator at large,” ready to step in where needed to keep the school day running smoothly.
