Position Overview
The Sample Program Coordinator sits under our iTi Tropicals business line and is responsible for monitoring key indicators of product quality and safety through communication, inspection, testing, monitoring, and maintaining sample inventory of tropical fruit juices and purees. The Sample Coordinator is also responsible for the integrity of all inbound product samples and managing the outbound distribution of samples to U.S. and international customer locations.
Job responsibilities include technical analysis of inbound samples, repacking and maintaining sample inventory, managing sample requests, and distribution of samples to our customer base in the food and beverage industry. The right candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication skills. This position offers hands on experience with iTi Tropicals’ product line and is an excellent starting point with growth potential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and conduct technical analyses on incoming fruit juice samples
- Monitor and evaluate incoming samples to ensure conformity to product specifications
- Establish and maintain GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) while repacking inbound sample products
- Maintain and track sample product inventory (including sample supplies) in the office
- Maintain and track sample inventory at warehouse locations and coordinate sample shipments to the office and/or pick up from New Jersey warehouse locations when necessary
- Manage and track outbound customer samples, including interacting with members of the sales staff, fulfilling customer sample orders using Netsuite and tracking samples to customer locations
- Review and approve certificates of analysis
- Support iTi Lab Testing and Pre-Shipment Testing Programs when needed
- Execute and maintain protocols, procedures, logs, and trackers that are in place for receipt, submission, distribution of samples and inventory tracking, lab equipment usage, and all others that apply
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in sample program working areas
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in a science based field, or other related discipline
- Food science background a plus
- Experience in fast-paced office environment a plus
- Experience with quality assurance systems; food industry a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with ERP or CRM systems a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Motivated self-starter with excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 100lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
