Genmab is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the Clinical Genomics team within Translational Sciences, located in Princeton, NJ. The Clinical Genomics team supports translational and clinical development programs by generating high‑quality genomic data from patient‑derived samples to inform biomarker discovery, patient stratification, disease biology, and response to therapy.
This lab‑based role will focus primarily on FFPE tissue processing, DNA extraction, whole exome sequencing workflows, NGS library preparation, sequencing quality assessment, and data delivery support. The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with FFPE clinical samples, nucleic acid extraction, Illumina‑based sequencing workflows, assay QC, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration. The role may also support FFPE RNA extraction and RNA‑seq workflows as needed.
This position requires onsite presence at Genmab’s Princeton, NJ site.
Responsibilities- Execute FFPE tissue processing, DNA extraction, nucleic acid quantification, quality assessment, and sample preparation for NGS workflows.
- Support whole exome sequencing workflows, including library preparation, sequencing coordination, assay QC, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Work with limited clinical FFPE tissue samples while applying careful sample handling, input assessment, and tissue-use prioritization.
- Support FFPE RNA extraction and RNA‑seq sample preparation workflows as needed.
- Review assay and sequencing QC metrics to ensure data quality and readiness for downstream analysis.
- Coordinate with Bioinformatics and Data Science colleagues to support data handoff, QC review, and preparation of analysis‑ready deliverables.
- Maintain accurate documentation of clinical sample workflows using LIMS, ELN, and other tracking systems.
- Contribute to assay optimization, workflow standardization, process improvements, and technology development activities.
- Collaborate with Translational Sciences, Clinical Operations, Pathology, Bioinformatics, and external partners to support timely delivery of clinical genomics data.
- Perform work in alignment with internal quality expectations and GCP‑supportive documentation practices.
- BS or MS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Immunology, Oncology, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with FFPE tissue processing, DNA extraction, nucleic acid QC, NGS library preparation, and Illumina sequencing workflows.
- Experience with whole exome sequencing, hybrid‑capture NGS assays, or related genomic profiling technologies.
- Experience working with clinical or limited tissue samples in oncology, translational research, pharmaceutical, or biotech settings.
- Hands‑on experience with both FFPE RNA extraction and RNA‑seq sample preparation workflows is preferred.
- Ability to evaluate assay performance, interpret sequencing QC metrics, troubleshoot technical issues, and clearly communicate results.
- Working knowledge of NGS data quality concepts, including coverage metrics, library complexity, sequencing performance, and batch effects.
- Experience using LIMS, ELN, or other structured sample and…
