We are looking for a recent Ph.D. graduate or a current postdoctoral scientist who is interested in exploring the biology of a proprietary novel cell surface target and its role in various cancers including triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer and other tumor types. The candidate would assist in the evaluation of biologics targeting this novel target.

  • This position is supported by grant funding intended to advance technological and scientific research in New Jersey.
  • The role is designed for recent Ph.D. graduates and late-stage Ph.D. candidates to continue their research in and gain industry exposure at a NJ Based Biotech startup
  • The position will be primarily research-focused, supporting innovation and scientific advancement.
  • Grant funding may include limited support for research-related expenses, such as equipment or conference attendance, in accordance with grant guidelines.
The Role

You will assist in developing biologics, including antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), bispecific ADCs and bispecific T-cell engagers (BiTes), against a novel ADC target.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating the expression of this ADC target and related targets in a panel of human tumor cell lines and in human tumor xenograft models.
  • Developing stable knockout cell lines that no longer expresses the target protein(s).
  • Developing luciferase expressing tumor cell lines and establish tumor xenograft models.
  • Developing human tumor cell lines that are resistant to common payloads used for ADCs and identify mechanisms of resistance that are also found in cancer patients.
  • Establishing in vitro assays, including cytotoxicity assays, to evaluate the biologics.
  • Publishing in high impact peer reviewed journals and present at international meetings.
What your day will look like
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the company’s scientific objectives.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments or studies related to the assigned research area.
  • Make timely entries into the company’s electronic notebook.
  • Document research findings and contribute to internal reports, presentations, or publications.
  • Collaborate with internal scientific and technical teams to advance research milestones.
  • Support grant reporting requirements as needed.
What you should possess
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques to produce knockout constructs and expression constructs.
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture to establish stable recombinant cell lines.
  • Knowledge of using multi-color flow cytometry to identify specific cell surface markers.
  • Experience performing in vitro assays, such as cytotoxicity assays using cell-titer glo or Alamar blue.
  • Willingness to learn how to clone, express and purify proteins such as recombinant monospecific and bispecific antibodies.
  • Strong work ethic and able to work collaboratively under minimal supervision.
  • Graduated from doctoral program after January 2026 or will graduate before January 2027
