Position: Associate Principal Scientist - In Vitro Toxicology - Microelectrode Array - Site Based, Princeton, NJ

The Role (Associate Principal Scientist)
What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine in-vitro toxicology assays, with a focus on Microelectrode Array (MEA)
  • Plan, perform, and report in vitro toxicology studies for discovery and development stage compounds
  • Participate in experimental design; perform experiments; critically analyze, interpret, and report data to design next steps
  • Perform high-impact and high-throughput studies in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects to meet timelines
  • Establish new TOX assays and contribute to continuous improvement of current TOX assays
  • Guide junior scientists within the department
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation
  • Provide laboratory support (ordering, equipment calibration, validation) while adhering to the Quality System
  • Work with Project Managers to meet client requirements
  • Conduct quality review of peer data; consolidate assay control and validation criteria
Who You Are
  • PhD in a scientific relevant field plus 3+ years post-PhD experience in contract research, pharmaceutical industry, or academia
  • Equivalent education/experience may be accepted
  • Cell biology and electrophysiology experience with a strong record of scientific achievement
  • Drug discovery/development experience, especially MEA assays
  • Expertise in electrophysiological assays using MEA for cardiac and neuro assays (highly desired)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time; strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to train and mentor junior scientists
  • Broad understanding of Toxicology, electrophysiology, and cell biology
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base pay range: $93,500 to $115,000 (salaried exempt)
