Our client, located in Princeton, NJ, is seeking a temporary Cook to join their team. The Cook will prepare all food requirements for daily menus with concern for quality, appeal, presentation, cleanliness, safety, and cost. The Cook will also be responsible for the kitchen in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Candidates must have flexible availability with work hours and be able to work both weekend days.
* We have a strong preference for candidates available between 12pm - 9pm daily, including weekends. (shifts will be 8 hrs. max between these hours) *
Pay Rate:
Starting from $30/hr

- Prepare and present a full variety of foods for the menu, including soups, sauces, casseroles, stir fry, meats, cold foods, and vegetables. Adhere to standardized recipes, establish portion sizes, and preserve quality, taste, and presentations standards set forth by the client.
- Assist in the ongoing training of kitchen personnel.
- Maintain the kitchen, kitchen equipment, and related areas in a safe and sanitary condition always. Correct or report any safety and sanitation hazards.
- Assist with the daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Maintain storage areas, utilizing proper storage techniques, including enforcing a FIFO policy for all foodstuffs.
- Maintain and enforce the established energy conservation techniques and guidelines.
- Assist with productions, service, and cleanup of special functions.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions, and execute recipes.
- Ability to stand or walk up to 2 hours at one time for a total of 6-8 hours a day.
- Ability to sit for no more than 2 hours during an 8-hour day.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Knowledge of food and supply systems and New Jersey State Health Department rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with all food preparation procedures including the regular use of standardized recipes, batch cooking, portion control charts, production sheets, and service summary reports.
