Chez Alice Patisserie is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook to join our team during a high-demand season. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for pastry arts and strong cake decorating and writing skills. The ideal candidate will assist in the production of baked goods, with a primary focus on custom cakes requiring hand-piped lettering and artistic detail.

Candidate must be willing to work weekdays/nights, weekends and/or holidays.

• Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Write personalized messages on cakes using various piping techniques with accuracy and aesthetic appeal.
• Decorate cakes with buttercream, fondant, and other finishing elements as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized pastry station in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist in inventory management, including labeling and storing ingredients.
• Collaborate with the pastry team to ensure timely and high-quality product output during peak periods.
• Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
• Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines.
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, and all storage areas.
• Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinate the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.

• 1+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting.
• Proficient in cake writing using buttercream or gel icing.
• Demonstrated ability to decorate cakes neatly and creatively.
• Strong attention to detail and steady hand for precision work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

• The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision & focus.
