Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed beauty sales consultant to provide end‑to‑end customer experience in Beauty & Personal Care, offering paid beauty services, personalized product advice, and supporting in‑store events.
Customer Sales Experience- Seek out customers to ensure a world‑class beauty advisor experience.
- Provide personalized sales service based on customer needs, with productive upselling and suggestive selling.
- Use verbal skills to generate sales and stimulate a different thought process.
- Act as brand expert, answering customer questions with in‑depth product knowledge to maximize the sales basket.
- Engage customers with CVS services, Beauty Club programs, in‑store events, and current promotions to close sales.
- Represent CVS and partner brands when interacting with customers, upholding the highest service standards.
- Provide ear‑piercing services in all stores; perform all other applicable services where required.
- Pass assessments of proficiency before performing services in store.
- Educate customers by demonstrating proper product usage and highlighting product features and benefits.
- Manage time effectively between consultations, scheduled services, and walk‑in clients.
- Display current Cosmetology/Esthetician license during all working hours at all locations.
- Create and maintain product displays and special promotional materials to support brand, corporate, and local advertising efforts.
- Participate in and represent CVS at sales programs and events.
- Keep the area well‑stocked, well‑merchandised, and compliant with hygiene standards.
- Execute sanitation and hazardous waste disposal policies in a timely and compliant manner.
- Complete ongoing sales, brand, and paid service execution training in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company policies and guidelines.
- Stay plugged in to the latest beauty trends and techniques.
- Current and valid Cosmetology/Esthetician license in the state of employment.
- Display active Cosmetology/Esthetician license during all working hours at the work site(s).
- Ability to perform ear‑piercing services in all stores and all other services offered.
- Pass all required skills assessments and training courses to execute paid service options.
- Use sales data with product/brand knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Goal‑driven with the ability to multi‑task.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Available to work at CVS stores and travel to sales programs and events as needed.
- Flexible retail schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior beauty sales experience.
- Passion for beauty and strong customer service orientation.
- Stand for extended periods of time and move throughout the store.
- Perform stocking, facing, and promotional updates.
- Stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach or grasp objects on lower shelves.
- Perform duties requiring manual dexterity, e.g., hair styling, makeup application, ear piercing.
$16.00 – $19.50 per hour. Actual base salary will vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
