Job Brief
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to continue developing the existing sales pipeline to solicit new Commercial landscape maintenance contracts. The (BDM) will be responsible for developing an additional $1.3+ million dollars in new sales annually, estimating and selling Commercial Landscape Maintenance, Enhancements, and Snow Management Services.
Responsibilities- Generate 1.3 million dollars in new commercial landscape maintenance total revenue.
- Continuous development of strategic sales pipeline.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key decision makers, discovering their pain points and developing value‑based solutions.
- Effectively qualify opportunities to gain valuable intelligence.
- Build and present compelling customer‑centric proposals.
- Work well with operations team members and leverage their expertise with yours.
- Hit specific activity benchmarks and close business.
- Secure renewals, enhancements, and new maintenance sales.
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with clients.
- Perform site walkthroughs with clients to ensure quality and service expectations are met.
- Proactively present site enhancement ideas to clients.
- Generate referrals from existing clients.
- Develop accurate estimates for new and existing clients, maintaining acceptable gross margins that support the branch’s financial goals.
- Maintain satisfactory accounts receivable levels.
- Coordinate with Branch Administration and Operations to ensure branch databases contain up‑to‑date client information.
- Facilitate the resolution of client concerns to ensure renewal.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Extensive face‑to‑face (B2B) selling experience at mid to senior levels.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Driven, disciplined, focused and enjoy prospecting.
- Experience estimating commercial landscape maintenance, enhancement work, and snow removal services. Present job hours allotted to operations team.
- Minimum of 10 years of prior face‑to‑face (B2B) selling experience, management, and leadership experience within the landscaping industry.
- Hungry for sales; caring for customers and team members.
- Account Management skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and a large territory.
- Local knowledge and contacts in one or more market segments.
- Experience in the service industry with commercial contract sales.
- Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Aspire, Align, and/or Asana) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel).
- Identify opportunities to partner with vendors and manufacturers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent financial management skills.
