Lead Carpenter

Rowe Carpentry LLC seeks a Lead Carpenter to run residential and small commercial projects from framing through finish. In this hands-on role, you'll read plans, lay out work, and perform high-quality framing, trim, and remodeling while directing a small crew. You'll coordinate with the owner and clients, maintain safe, organized job sites, and ensure workmanship meets our high standards. This position offers varied, visible projects, close collaboration with experienced craftspeople, and opportunities to deepen your skills in a small, supportive Maine-based shop.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day carpentry work on residential and light commercial projects from framing through finish.
• Read plans, lay out work, and ensure measurements and cuts are accurate.
• Supervise and mentor carpenters and helpers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Coordinate with the owner and clients on schedule, site needs, and project details.
• Maintain safe, organized job sites and follow applicable safety standards.
• Perform framing, trim, cabinetry, and remodeling tasks with high-quality craftsmanship.
• Assist with material takeoffs, ordering, and delivery coordination.
• Troubleshoot site issues and propose practical construction solutions.
