QA Automation Engineer – Java, Selenium & AWS
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Java, Selenium, and AWS to join our team. This is a senior-level position requiring a deep understanding of both functional testing and automation. The successful candidate will own the AWS-hosted regression framework and process, ensuring robust and reliable test automation.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in QA across functional and automation.
- Strong proficiency in Java — ability to write and debug framework code, not just scripts.
- Experience with Selenium, Cucumber/BDD, and solid SQL skills.
- Proven experience in debugging, fixing, and improving automation frameworks in AWS (EC2/ECS, S3, SQS, RDS, Cloud Watch, IAM).
- Track record of measurably reducing regression runtime and flakiness.
- Experience with Jenkins/CI-CD, Maven, Git.
- Strong analytical mindset; ability to work independently through intermittent, ambiguous failures.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
PreferredSkills & Qualifications
- Experience in BFSI industry.
- Experience in integrating and maintaining suites in CI/CD.
- Experience partnering with Dev Ops and Development teams.
- Design and execute functional test cases; validate data directly via SQL.
- Build, extend, and refactor the core automation framework (UI, API, and service layers).
- Own the AWS automation framework — permanently fix cloud failure modes.
- Harden environment provisioning, seeding, teardown, and secrets management.
- Implement resilience in the framework — retry with backoff, health checks, and readiness gates.
- Improve the end-to-end AWS regression process — reduce runtime via parallelization and sharding.
- Analyze logs and stack traces to isolate root cause; classify failures appropriately.
- Integrate and maintain suites in CI/CD; partner with Dev Ops and Development to clear infrastructure blockers.
