Responsible for operating appropriate telecommunication equipment to provide communication services for the entire hospital.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in customer service.

- Operate telecommunication equipment to provide communication service to hospital departments, patient care areas, and physicians.
- Receive incoming calls and connect them as requested.
- Monitor alarms such as fire, emergency, security, and telecommunications equipment.
- Announce emergency codes and activate pagers and other communication devices.
- Relay and route written and verbal messages.
- Identify problems with communication devices and take appropriate action.
- Document required information in appropriate logs.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills when dealing with callers/emergency situations.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to read and write legibly.
- Standard office environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as phones, computers, copier, fax machine, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multi-line phone system.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
