Job Description

Job Title: CTAE Teacher

Reports to:Principal

Education, Certification, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a related field of Engineering required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• Must hold or be eligible for a certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for the course(s) taught or be eligible to participate in the district’s non-certification pathway.



WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of occupational experience in the field required.

The CTAE Teacher (Technology Education - Engineering) is responsible for teaching the theoretical and practical concepts, strategies, and techniques associated with the field of Technology Education and Engineering within the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) framework.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of fundamental principles in the fields of technology literacy, principles of engineering, design and concepts and employability skill development.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to the fields of technology literacy, principles of engineering, design and concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning
  • Knowledge of school safety and security
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Teaches students the fundamentals of Technology Education - Engineering including the applications and laboratory techniques commonly used in the
  • Instructs students using effective instructional strategies such as research projects, group discussions, cooperative

learning, project and problem-based learning.

  • Prepares engaging and challenging lessons for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and
  • Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate students'
  • Administers various types of assessments to monitor student’s comprehension of
  • Administer and/or supports state and local testing processes and
  • Attends in-person faculty meetings and professional learning sessions (GACTE Summer Conference, Cluster Drive-ins sponsored by the Georgia Department of Education, APS Professional Development, ).
  • Examines careers in Technology Education - Engineering and effectively guides students through industry career
  • Makes industry connections for the purpose of facilitating real world experiences for students such as classroom guest speakers, job shadows, service learning, and work-based
  • Assists students as an advisor for CTAE student
  • Enhances course content in the form of remediation, modification and
  • Analyzes data to improve instruction and models instructional strategies which promote student
    • Works collaboratively with Middle/High School teachers to vertical align curriculum and best practices, where

    applicable.

    • Effectively manages the learning environment, so that it is conducive to
    • Maintains and monitors an effective learning environment free of hazard, ridicule and
    • Assists with student management throughout the building, grounds and/or other district
    • Coordinates parent/teacher and student/teacher conferences to review student performance, behavior and other issues.
