Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

General Facilities Maintenance Technician at a local Walmart retail store. Responsibilities include executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures under the supervision of the General Maintenance Manager. You will adhere to maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, clean, repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in maintenance trades such as plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade. The role is part of a dynamic team that values innovation, teamwork, and excellence.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
