Job OverviewThis labor-intensive position involves hand‑building pallets of product for bulk and route trucks. Each loading type requires strict attention to order accuracy for loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. The loader works from an electronic order system or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Accuracy in handling shipper/receiver documentation and compliance with warehouse instructions is essential.
The position demands maintaining a clean and safe work environment and may require working across various weather conditions and shift durations to match workload.
Move full pallets of products from the warehouse onto a trailer and remove returned pallets/plastic flats. Responsible for unloading raw materials into designated warehouse space.
Bulk Truck LoadingSelect designated packages and flavors, load them onto a pallet, maintain pallet stability through proper stacking and shrink‑wrapping. Pallets are typically loaded onto a trailer for local delivery. Unload returned products and pallets/plastic flats.
Route Truck LoadingSelect designated packages and pallets of products, load them into the truck. The product list is customized per sales order. Unload returned items and pallets/plastic flats.
Physical RequirementsLifting a high volume of cases per day, 20–45 pounds per case, with constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
Primary Job Accountabilities- Drive power pallet jack or forklift to picking area and build pallet/load according to load sheet or voice pick audio equipment.
- Mark load ticket for out‑of‑stock items.
- Wrap pallet when load is finished.
- Submit paperwork with order before loading and have truck checked.
- Stage pallet and/or load into truck when ready.
- Complete partial pallets and put away mixed pallets.
- Maintain proper housekeeping standards in work area.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
- 18 years or older.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selection, product storage, staging, powered pallet jack/forklifts).
- Driving a forklift (basic operations such as driving forwards/backwards, lifting/lowering boom, maneuvering in tight areas).
- Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets.
- Experience working in a team environment.
