About the Role
Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking skilled Telecom/Underground Utilities Heavy Equipment Operators to join our traveling crew. The position involves traveling across several states in the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, including the western states. This is a full‑time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Operate all heavy machinery safely.
- Dig trenches, back‑fill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications.
- Transport materials and equipment; load and unload equipment and materials as needed.
- Follow all on‑site safety procedures.
- Ensure contents and equipment are properly secured during transportation.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and rules.
- Perform daily vehicle pre‑trip inspections and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
- Travel is a must; assignments are flexible to enable returning home each night when possible.
- Possess a valid CDL Class A (not required, but premium pay is included if held or obtained).
- Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years).
- Strong focus on quality and safety.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to perform all aspects of the job, including hand digging trenches if machinery cannot reach specific areas.
- Travel is required.
This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock, and exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical RequirementsThe employee must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, and withstand prolonged and repeated lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
CompensationThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $25.00/Hr. – USD $38.50/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications. Pay is based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee.
