About This Role
TRAVEL POSITION – Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking skilled Telecom Experienced Foreman to join our traveling crew. Our contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, encompassing the western states. We are looking for talented individuals who are enthusiastic and ready to travel to various job sites. Travel position is prioritized for local assignments that enable our team to return home each night, while remaining flexible and ready to pursue opportunities wherever the job market takes us.
Responsibilities- The Telecom Foreman will oversee a crew of employees depending on job type and size. Coordinate with the Construction Supervisor on lining out daily jobs. Oversee installations, ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools; assess install sites; and prepare install As-Builts.
- Teach and train employees assigned to the crew. Ensure safety protocols are followed and crew members wear proper PPE.
- Daily responsibilities include all phases of telecommunication construction (loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of materials and equipment).
- Ensure crew is on time and performing daily tasks; plan and strategize with crew; set goals for job completions.
- Perform daily pre-trip, JHA, and monthly safety lessons; maintain professionalism with public, customers, and crew.
- Obtain prints and permits for all assigned jobs from Supervisor; set up and clean up the worksite with no return trips.
- Follow all instructions from Supervisor and maintain communication; communicate with outside vendors and manage traffic control and rentals; perform proper traffic control and public safety procedures.
- As-built and hand in completed prints; teach and train all crew members on their tasks; submit daily timecards for crew and self.
- Coordinate with city officials on permits or communicate with Supervisor; track job completion metrics and update the tracker; problem-solve to keep the crew productive.
- Create a plan for the following day.
- Assist in Job forecasting; assist in Work in Progress (WIP) meetings; participate in end-of-month financial activities.
- Participate in Operations calls and meetings.
Telecommunications Foreman
Qualifications:
- Willingness to travel.
- 3–5 years of experience in underground construction.
- Ability to read maps, plans, and blueprints, and convey this information to others.
- Experience operating heavy equipment; knowledge of proper operation and safety standards.
- 1–3 years of experience operating heavy machinery (loaders, dozers, backhoes, excavators).
- Traffic Control Maintainer certificate.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Valid driver’s license or eligibility and willingness to obtain the required license; good driving record.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various utility trucks and equipment safely; basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment safety.
- Effective communication skills with customers and employees; ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly with or without assistance.
- Class A CDL is a plus (higher wage scales apply to CDL holders); OSHA 10 certificate.
- Previous construction experience, preferably in the underground industry.
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative; understanding of daily maintenance for underground equipment.
- Ability to perform all underground procedures and duties.
