Special Education Paraprofessional - Center Based
Hidden Oaks Middle School
Begins: 09/10/2026 Onboarding:
Week of 08/31/2026
7.25 hrs/day (6.75 hours paid, plus 0.5 hour unpaid lunch), Student contact days
$21.05 - $24.35 per hour (2025-26 rates), plus single health insurance and district contribution toward single dental insurance.

- Qualifications include one of the following:
Associates Degree or higher; 60 college semester credits; "Highly qualified" status through completion of Para Educator or Para Pro exam. - Candidates without one of these qualifications will need to pass the Para Educator exam within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs).
- Ability to work with students with mild to severe disabilities.
- Must employ interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Building Principal and Assistant Director of Special Education
JOB GOALSProvide support to the special education staff with educationally related activities and help students with support in different subject areas: monitors/directs and supports students in other school settings as needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Support and monitor students in educational settings.
- Provide teacher support; objective observation, data keeping, and prepare and organize materials.
- Assist in implementing successful student programs as designed by special education staff.
- Assist with personal care needs of individual students, as needed.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in cultural heritage, lifestyles, and value systems among students and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or supervising teacher, specific to special education.
As per the MSEA collective bargaining agreement.
