Health Aide - Nurse RN/LPN

Begins August 31, 2026

Hours:

6 hrs/day, 174 days/year

Location:

Laker LAUNCH at Grainwood

Salary:

  • Unlicensed: $22.95 - $25.10/hr (2025-26 rates)
  • LPN: $27.06 - $29.41/hr (2025-26 rates)
  • RN: $31.12 - $33.56/hr (2025-26 rates)

Salary subject to change once the 2026-28 Health Aide Agreement is finalized.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate; current LPN or RN licensure in the State of Minnesota.
  • Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Respect for confidentiality of information.
  • Ability and interest in working with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Maturity and stability; ability to recognize limitations, to accept and utilize supervision.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Responsibilities
    • Administer first aid and episodic care in accordance with district policy; RN: provide and reinforce education to students, school staff, and parents on acute and chronic health concerns.
    • Arrange transportation of students who become ill or injured at school.
    • Make appropriate referrals to nurse, counselor, and other staff as needed.
    • Administer medication only to students with appropriate forms; keep accurate records; RN: obtain verbal orders from prescribers; administer IM, IV, sub‑q, rectal meds and perform ordered procedures.
    • Triaging information to appropriate team members; RN: assist LSN with providing resources, health information, and training.
    • Maintain a current file of emergency referral cards.
    • Maintain accurate health records and complete health information indexing.
    • Prepare accident reports, confidential health lists, health history updates, and parent notification forms.
    • Complete requisitions for health office supplies; issue first aid supplies to staff; stock first aid cabinets.
    • Schedule appointments; type, file, answer phone calls, and perform other related functions.
    • Assist building administrator with enforcement of immunization regulations.
    • Assist with screenings and help set up screening equipment.
    • Schedule and assist students to get to the screening site; RN: perform initial and re‑screens of vision and hearing as needed.
    • Clean health office as necessary.
