Job Overview:
They specialize in allocating concrete community resources (housing, legal, financial, and mental health) to help stabilize employees, while conducting preliminary needs assessments, initial psychosocial screenings, and offering crisis triage. Clients served include: SMSC employees and their families, as well as Native Americans and their families living in Scott County.

The Work You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary greeter for employees visiting the EAP office, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and strictly confidential environment.
- Manage the department's reception area, including handling incoming calls, responding to general inquiries, and triaging crisis walk-ins.
- Oversee scheduling, maintain confidential client calendars, and manage the intake flow for EAP counselors/clinical staff.
- Conduct professional and empathetic preliminary screenings and psychosocial assessments to evaluate the nature of an employee's needs.
- Provide initial crisis intervention and de-escalation for employees in acute distress before assigning them to a staff counselor.
- Identify red flags—such as substance abuse risk, severe mental health concerns, or intimate partner violence—and expedite appropriate clinical care.
- Maintain an up-to-date, comprehensive database of local and regional community resources (e.g., food banks, mental health clinics, legal aid, and housing assistance).
- Navigate complex social service networks to connect employees with tangible, concrete resources quickly and efficiently.
- Assist employees in filling out necessary paperwork, navigating benefits, and applying for assistance programs.
- Act as an advocate and liaison between the employee and external community service providers.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records
- Coordinate with Human Resources to seamlessly integrate EAP resources with overall workplace wellness initiatives.
- Maintain cultural humility and deliver services that are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to diverse employee populations.
- Participate in peer consultation, and ongoing professional development.
- Uphold ethics and licensing standards in all clinical and professional activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) required;
Master of Social Work (MSW) preferred. - Current, unrestricted Minnesota social work licensure in good standing with the state board as one of the following:
Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) - Two (2) to four (4) years of professional experience in case management, resource allocation, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or EAP-adjacent role, or a mental health setting.
- Strong working knowledge of local community resources, social services, and public assistance programs.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to establish appropriate professional boundaries and effectively manage crisis situations.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and technology skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other healthcare or business-related software as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Class D driver's license may be required with a good driving record.
