• US Citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• Not less than 21 years of age at time of employment
• Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes
• Able to read/write the English language
• Pass medical exam including drug screening
• Possesses substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a City Prospect Heights Police Officer who has completed the probationary period, as determined by the City
• Taken and passed such examinations as the Commission deems necessary to determine fitness for duty as a Police Officer
• Completed an in state full time Basic Law Enforcement Training Course or attend an out of state Basic Law Enforcement Training Course and receive a waiver from the ILETSB.
• Be a certified police officer in good standing, having been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board under Section 8.1 of the Illinois Police Training Act (50 ILCS 705/8.1), and
• Currently working as a full-time police officer in good standings for an Illinois law enforcement agency; or
• Has left his/her agency in good standing.

• Copy of your high school diploma or GED certificate
• Copy of your U.S. Military DD-214 form, if applicable
• Copy of your college or university degree(s) or transcript(s), if applicable
• Copy of your certificate of completion of Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Academy training
